Burke's Law (1994)
Burke's Law is a revival of a detective series of the same nam that ran on ABC from 1963 to 1965. The show followed Amos Burke, millionaire captain of Los Angeles police homicide division, who was chauffeured around to solve crimes in his 1962 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II. Though the original series was converted from a detective show to a spy drama in its third and final season, the revived series was again a cop show. The Rolls-Royce used in the original 1963-1965 series still exists, and is owned by a collector in Palm Beach, Florida.

The Name of the Game
The Name of the Game was actually three series under one title. Each of the three stars of the show, Gene Barry, Robert Stack and Tony Franciosa were featured in their own self-contained episodes. The connection between them was Howard Publications, a Los Angeles based publishing empire that had been built up from scratch by its dynamic owner, Glenn Howard. Howard's position of power, his confrontations with business and political enemies, and his own flamboyant lifestyle were portrayed in his portion of The Name of the Game. Within the Howard empire were investigative correspondent Jeff Dillon and editor Dan Farrell. Dillon was a super-agressive former newsboy who had clawed his way up to a position of power and respect working for Howard's People Magazine. Farrell was a former FBI agent who had gone into the publishing business because it provided a position from which to make the public aware of the threats posed by organized crime.
Burke's Law
Amos Burke is the millionaire captain of homicide in the Beverly Hills police department. He is a suave playboy and a good policeman.
He solves the mystery of "who killed..." with charm, wit, and a pretty girl on his arm, and a list of "Burke's laws".
Bat Masterson
Loosely based on the life and adventures of real life lawman, army scout, gunfighter and journalist. Dressed-up dandy (derby and cane), gambler and lawman roams the West charming women and defending the unjustly accused. His primary weapon was his wit (and cane) rather than his gun.
