Ella has no husband, no children and no private life, but runs the best maternity ward in the Netherlands. It seems to be enough for her, because Ella loves her job dearly. Despite loving it so dearly, it also causes lots of stress and problems for her and her colleagues as she has to make long working days in a tough and challenging working environment, which is also highly understaffed. Together with her colleagues, she guides them with the most challenging births, where pain and ecstasy go hand in hand and moments of happiness and sadness can alternate within a matter of seconds. Like it is nothing, but it is not nothing. It's a matter about a new life.

After a divorce Hannah (Jennifer Hoffman) is desided to get her life back on track. She is the new mother of a dochter that sits in 3th class of the school the Klimop.

Actor Thom Hoffman is starring as a successful vascular surgeon who is suddenly confronted with a blood phobia, making it impossible for him to exercise his job in the hospital. He moves from the capital to the countryside to work as the GP of the village where he only knows his aunt. His predecessor was well liked, so a warm welcome to the newcomer is therefore not obvious. The emphatic capabilities of the doctor leaving much to be desired, making it even harder for him to win his place in the close-knit community.
