The story of an African American woman who falls in love with a Sicilian chef while studying abroad in Florence and goes on to build a life with him in Los Angeles, merging two seemingly opposite cultures.

This is a comedy centered on Jay Weaver (Dorien Wilson), a barbershop owner trying to bond with the adult son he never knew he had. The drama and comedy comes in equal doses as Jay balances working alongside his wisecracking employees and his feisty ex-wife (Jackée Harry) running the beauty salon next door. This show is set three years after the zombie virus has gutted the country, and a team of everyday heroes must transport the only known survivor of the plague from New York to California, where the last functioning viral lab waits for his blood. The First Family will star Christopher B. Duncan and Kellita Smith as the president and first lady. Gladys Knight will play the president's mother, and Jackee Harry and Marla Gibbs will portray the first lady's sister and mother, respectively. John Witherspoon will also have a regular role on the series.

Bernie (Bernie Mac) and his wife Wanda never wanted to raise kids, but when Bernie's sister is sent to jail, her kids have to move in with Uncle Bernie.
