Centered in New York, this follows the story of the legalization and subsequent rise of the porn industry through the early 70s and right into the 80s. It will explore the rough-and-tumble world that existed in midtown Manhattan until the rise of HIV, the violence of the cocaine epidemic and the renewed real estate market all ended this wild ride. Named for 42nd Street, The Deuce is partly inspired by twin brothers who were contenders in this turbulent Times Square world, becoming fronts for the Mob - the real power controlling this volatile and lucrative sex industry.
