Set in the 1970's, Blackwater tells the story of how four random people's lives converge after two tourists are found murdered in a tent near the Swedish mountain town of Blackwater.

When Emma hears that her father has stopped doing his job as a wolf researcher, she takes her son Leo to Østbygda to find out what's going on. At the same time, a young boy disappears without a trace from the village.

Hanna, a fading star of a cop in the organized crime unit of the Stockholm Police. On the home front, her son has severed all ties with her, as she's the one who caused his arrest and subsequent two-year imprisonment for drug possession. When her lover and colleague is abducted, Hanna must take over his undercover investigation of a criminal biker gang as well as protect an infiltrator. To prevent a brutal takeover in the criminal underworld, she must fight for her son's life and break another family to save her own.

This is a comedy that touches on every challenge and experience that is associated with new parents around the ages 25 and 45, social interactions, single life, toddler-parents, mother-son-relationship, in-laws, possible friction between having a career and a family.
