What Britain Buys
This series provides an eye-opening and intriguing look at how we shop, which products we buy, and what its 6.7 billion-a-week shopping habit says about Britain today. Each episode, Mary Portas meets the high street buyers, trend forecasters, celebrity endorsers and the great British public - to discover what's flying off the shelves and what's not shifting. Armed with inside information from the nation's biggest retailers - including M&S, Amazon, Waitrose, Superdrug, Halfords, Waterstones, John Lewis, and more - What Britain Buys lifts the lid on what we spend our hard earned cash on and why. So if you are wondering why adults are playing Lego, don't know why your bathroom is overrun with male beauty products, have never tried a freakshake, or wondering why the great British cuppa is facing competition from coconut water, Mary provides the answers you need.
Hotel GB
If Channel 4 had a their very own hotel then Gordon Ramsay would be the chef and Mary Portas would take charge of the rooms. Gok Wan would run the bar and be in charge of events while Phil Spencer would be Maitre D'. Christian Jessen would head-up the gym while Kim Woodburn would take on housekeeping. Kirstie Allsopp could be concierge and Katie Piper would be in charge of the spa. The celebrities take charge of a hotel for a week as they train unemployed people who want to prove they are capable of succeeding in the workplace. They have to deal with members of the public at all hours of the day, managing complaints and catering to their needs in the establishment's many facilities. They also compete to see who can raise the most money for a range of employment charities.
Mary Portas: Secret Shopper
The show sees championing the shopper and taking on Britain's biggest chains stores to put customers first. Along the way she exposes bad customer service and uses the evidence to give company bosses a major wake-up call.
