Set in a part of Tokyo that has descended into a quagmire, the story follows Unit 8 of the 5th Special Public Security Section's 3rd Mobile Assault Division, popularly called "The Eighth," who don powered armor "Willwear" exoskeletons to counter the rise in crime.Note: The anime will be split into two sections, the first half will air in January 2016, while the second half will air in summer 2016.

In this world, "Sensha-do", the military art of using tanks, is every bit as important to a yamato nadeshiko as flower arrangement and tea ceremony. Nishizumi Miho is a new transfer student who want nothing to do with Sensha-do. However, she is summoned before the Student Council President who forcibly enrolls her in Sensha-do, with the ultimate goal of being part of the school's team in the National Sensha-do Tournament. To make matters worse, every single member of the team is eccentric.

Gad Guard is the story about a boy (Hajiki) who comes across a cube shaped rock called a Gad. To Hajiki's surprise the Gad turns into a giant mecha called a techode named Lightning. Soon after other techodes start appearing, some good and some bad.

Twenty-two years ago an earthquake destroyed the Kanagawa region of Japan. It caused the land to split and project upwards reaching extraordinary heights. It created the secluded area known as The Lost Ground. After the earthquake, The Lost Ground became home to a rising number of alter users, those with the psychic ability to change matter and create alters with unique powers. To control this lawless land the special police force, HOLD was created within an anti-alter unit, HOLY. But none of this matters to a native alter user, Kazuma. He is one of the few people that is gifted with the Alter ability. It allows him to turn his right arm and torso into a metallic alloy.

Keitaro Urashima is determined to be accepted into Tokyo University, the hardest Japanese University of all to get into, because of a promise he made to a girl when he was young... a girl whose name he can't even remember. After failing to get into Tokyo U twice, he is kicked out by his parents and goes to live with his Grandmother at her hotel, but it seems it has been turned into an all girls boarding house. What's more, much to his surprise and to the tenants disgust, Keitaro is made manager of the boarding house.

During Japan's Taisho Era (1912-1926), a scientist named Ayanokoji developed the Steel Angel - an artificial humanoid with superhuman physical abilities. While the Imperial Army wanted to use the Steel Angel as a new means of modern warfare, Ayanokoji wanted his creation to be a new step in the future of mankind. Thus, he defied orders from the Army and secretly made the Steel Angel codenamed "Kurumi". Then one day, a young boy named Nakahito Kagura snuck into Ayanokoji's house as a dare by his friends and stumbled upon Kurumi's lifeless body. A sudden attack by the Imperial Army shook the house, causing Kurumi to fall on Nakahito. At that moment, their lips met, and Kurumi woke up from "the kiss that started a miracle".
