A science fiction anthology series based on the popular comics anthology magazine Métal Hurlant, known in the United States as Heavy Metal. All the episodes are a self-contained story taking place on a different planet with a different cast, linked together only by the idea that a meteorite, the "Métal Hurlant", passes the planet in question during the events of the story.

Jamie Sommers is a young woman working as bartender and raising her teenage sister, Becca. When she is hit by a car and seriously injured. Her only hope becomes an experimental and top secret procedure. But this salvation comes at a high price.

James Nesbitt stars as the infamous Doctor Jekyll that struggles to deal with his dark alter-ego, Mr. Hyde. The Doctor employs high-tech wizardry to keep his other half in check and protect his wife and kids while a shadowy organization endeavors to use the Doctor's "ailment" toward their own goals.
