Mare of Easttown follows a small-town Pennsylvania detective who investigates a local murder at a time when her own life is crumbling around her.

The event launches an inverted and utterly surprising crime thriller whose driving force is not the who or the what - but the why. A rogue investigator finds himself obsessed with uncovering the woman's buried motive, and together they travel a harrowing journey into the depths of her psyche and the violent secrets hidden in her past.

Set in Baltimore, this show centers around the city's inner-city drug scene. It starts as mid-level drug dealer, D'Angelo Barksdale beats a murder rap. After a conversation with a judge, Det. James McNulty has been assigned to lead a joint homicide and narcotics team, in order to bring down drug kingpin Avon Barksdale.
