Intrepid Nick Knowles sets off on another ambitious adventure for Channel 5, this time to South America. From the self-styled 'end of the world' in Chile, Nick treks to the astonishing Torres del Paine National Park, considered by some to be the eighth wonder of the world. From the lake district, he visits a Chilean archipelago in the Pacific and its largest island Chiloe, home of witches, and finally traverses the Andes to end his South American odyssey in Argentina.

Nick travels by rail through the extraordinary Andes Mountains to Machu Picchu, Peru.

To help the home owners work out their Tudor from their Georgian and their Doric from their Deco, Nick rolls up his sleeves and delves into the untouched corners of each property, educating the owners along the way. This is restoration with knobs on, as each home's transformation offers stacks of design inspiration and shopping tips. As the renovations progress, Nick researches the lives and times of all the previous residents, unearthing a rich seam of social and design history that looks at our homes in a whole new light.

Nick Knowles hosts the quiz where two teams of complete strangers compete by completing a series of lists. The team who name more correct answers on a list get the chance to play for 50,000 pounds.
