Mapp and Lucia is a TV series based on E. F. Benson's books set in the 1930s English countryside. It follows the one-upmanship of two middle-aged women who always try to have the last word or arrange the better garden party. The show is similar to Jeeves & Wooster, following the adventures of the English gentry. It's a female version of the classic series, set in the same era.

The Commander is a police drama on ITV. Amanda Burton plays the Commander of the homicide division, Clare Blake, one of only four female commanders in the Metropolitan Police. Blake's team includes D.C.I. Hedges, played by Matthew Marsh, who opposes her from the start. Created by Lynda La Plante, the series was made by her production company and premiered in 2003.
