George and Mildred is a spin-off of the hit British series Man About the House...the landlords, George and Mildred Roper, have moved on to a new life in suburbia.
Mildred is keen to climb the social ladder, whilst George is perpetually unemployed - much to the disgust of their new neighbours.
The Good Life was an immensely popular British comedy of the 1970s. Tom and Barbara Good decide to abandon the rat race and live off their own resources, in their case a large house in posh Surbiton, where they plough up the garden and introduce a goat called Geraldine, a couple of pigs called Pinky and Perky, and various hens ruled over by a rooster nicknamed Lenin for his autocratic manner.
