The Good Life was an immensely popular British comedy of the 1970s. Tom and Barbara Good decide to abandon the rat race and live off their own resources, in their case a large house in posh Surbiton, where they plough up the garden and introduce a goat called Geraldine, a couple of pigs called Pinky and Perky, and various hens ruled over by a rooster nicknamed Lenin for his autocratic manner.

Roobarb is an animated children's programme originally broadcast in 1974. It was originally shown on BBC One. Each episode shows the friendly rivalry between Roobarb, the green dog, and Custard, the pink cat from next door.
