Our heroine is a recently separated, former military mom navigating a new single life while raising her radical teenaged daughter and socially adept tween son, with the "help" of her old school Cuban-born mom and a friends- without-benefits building manager named Schneider.
This soapy drama tells the story of two multi-generational Latin American families, the Duques and the Samuels in the rum and sugar business. This series explores the rivalry between the two families as well as the power struggles within the individual families.

There's shankin' and lovin' and cussin' and fightin' but in the end, HBO makes a damn fine prison drama. It's gritty. And there you have it.
