In the late nineties, four bandits come to extort money from a debtor, but accidentally end up in a cryochamber - and end up in 2022. Fil, Chak, Vzhik and Massa do not immediately understand that during this time Moscow has radically changed, their lifestyle has become very outdated, and the people around have many unfamiliar devices and strange habits. The worst thing is that their loved ones have become older, and now some will have to re-build relationships with their son, who has become his same age, and others will have to win the heart of their already much matured girlfriend. Now the four friends must find themselves in a new incomprehensible world and take revenge on the former boss, who sent them to the cryochamber.

When the end comes for civilization, it will not be terrorism or nuclear war that causes it, but The Blackout. An unexplained phenomenon has struck the Earth. Contact between most towns on Earth has been severed. A small area in Eastern Europe is the only location that still has electricity. When military forces venture outside, they discover a shocking truth - corpses everywhere. In stores, in cars, on roads, in hospitals and railway stations. Who or what is destroying all life on Earth? And how long can the last outpost of mankind endure?

Fashionable uptown Moscow: psychologist Artem practices "provocative therapy", convinced that the fastest and most effective cure is to brutally confront his patients with their fears. Yet his own life is in chaos after he was sentenced to prison for causing a patient's suicide. Free again, he opens a practice in a makeshift office, in a glamorous high rise no less, and sets to work, trying to get his life back on track at the same time. This means getting his wife back, fighting to keep his license to practice, protecting his teenage sister from her violent boyfriend, and, most of all, proving his innocence for the death of his former patient. Moreover he knows the identity of the killer, but proving it isn't so easy. With each case he gets closer to his goal and, although he helps his clients, brilliantly solving their seemingly impossible problems - will he be able to help himself?
