Since yesterday, we're experiencing intermittent issues with the server affecting app and website loading times. I'm working with the hosting company to resolve this as soon as possible. Apologies - hopefully all will be cleared up within a couple of hours! https://next-episode.net/news-permalink-843.html Fri, 28 Feb 2020 00:00:00 +0000 Actors on Next Episode This is something I wanted to (and have been trying to) implement for quite some time, and it's finally here! On show details pages you can now find the actors starring in the show, along with links for more shows with them. Data comes from TVMaze and if you notice anything that needs to be added or fixed - please do it there. Also, one little addition to our Movies section - there, you can now additionally sort by "Recently Watched". Let me know what you think and how those work for you. Try Premium to support us here and gain great features! https://next-episode.net/news-permalink-842.html Thu, 20 Feb 2020 00:00:00 +0000 Feature update and reminder Show recommendations is a great feature we have - one that not many of our new users may be aware of. This is the little "You may also like" section at the bottom of each show details page. There - you can recommend shows that you think others will also like. The suggestions are based on recommendation volume, so even if a show has some recommendations already - don't hesitate to add yours! To make this feature more intuitive and enjoyable to use - it now sports a dynamic search box on top, to instantly find the show you want to recommend. Check it out and let me know how it works for you! https://next-episode.net/news-permalink-841.html Fri, 14 Feb 2020 00:00:00 +0000 New site features By popular demand - new tweaks are now available to enhance show discovery on Next Episode: up until now, it was possible to display on the homepage (along with your today's, tomorrow's, yeterday's shows) - other shows that are in their first season. Now, you can also toggle a homepage setting that limits those to only the pilot episodes. in addition to the Hide non-English shows setting, now you can also Hide Anime shows.Let me know how those work for you and if you find them useful ... Cheers! https://next-episode.net/news-permalink-840.html Thu, 09 Jan 2020 00:00:00 +0000 Happy Holidays! By tradition, the cheerful decoration is here as well as the snow! :) No real snow for me though, how about you? As always - this is a good time to ask you what is the biggest thing you're missing on Next Episode or want improved? All suggestions are welcome and will be considered - now's the time to share them! The priority for the next year is the mobile apps - apologies for delaying the big updates for so long. Thanks for being part of our community and special thanks to our Premium members! You are the best! P.S. If the snow here bothers you - follow this link to get rid of it. Cheers! https://next-episode.net/news-permalink-839.html Tue, 24 Dec 2019 00:00:00 +0000 problem with the iOS app update Today an update for the iOS app was released - version 4.3 - adding iOS 13 compatibility and a fixing few bugs. Unfortunately, the update also introduced issues for users on Dark mode. An update (4.3.1) fixing that and adding Dark mode to the widget is currently waiting Apple's approval and should be available (hopefully) today. Apologies for the issue! A bigger app update (adding Dark mode to the whole app and many other great features) is still in the works! The update fixing the issue is now available in the Appstore! https://next-episode.net/news-permalink-838.html Fri, 25 Oct 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Enhanced Status Filter Our "Status" filter is now enhanced to include more fine-grained show statuses. Before we only had "all", "active", "inactive", and these are updated options: Any Status Active - all shows that are not known to be cancelled or ended Running - shows with episodes in the last year and a half In Development - shows with no episodes whatsoever Upcoming - shows that have only future episodes known In Hiatus - shows that have not aired episodes for more than an year and a half Cancelled/Ended - shows that are known to be either cancelled or endedTry it in our Browse section, your Watchlist and the top charts - hot, trending, from my creators and recommended. Let me know what you think and how that works for you. All feedback is, as always, greatly appreciated! https://next-episode.net/news-permalink-837.html Tue, 10 Sep 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Forum updated, responsive and more Our forum software is now updated and the forums are now finally mobile friendly! In addition, the links to the latest forum topics (on the homepage) are now visible on your mobile device as well (previously, those only showed up on desktop browsers). I worked on this for a couple of days and tried to fix every incompatibility and add every little tweak we've manually done over the years, but it's possible (almost certain) I've missed something. Please check out the forums and let me know if you find something broken or not working as it did before! https://next-episode.net/news-permalink-836.html Tue, 30 Jul 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Quick update regarding show ratings and filtering by year Shows that are yet to air can no longer be rated (also all ratings for such shows are now cleared up). This should've worked like that from the beginning. Apologies for not implementing it sooner. Also, to make our browsing and discovery features more powerful - you can now filter by year: in the Browse section, you can pick a specific year to filter by in From My Creators and Recommended discovery charts, you can chose narrow down based on recencyLet me know how those work for you! https://next-episode.net/news-permalink-835.html Tue, 16 Jul 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Updated Top Charts Just pushed out an update to all of our show discovery Top Charts, hopefully making them better looking (especially on mobile), more robust and useful. Here is a full list of the changes: The top charts now can be filtered by show status, prominent and all channels and all genres. Up until now, only some of these filters were available on some of the charts. All charts are now available to all users - if you haven't - go check them out now! Advanced filtering is still only available to our Premium members.Trailers now popup on the screen (instead of being embedded on the page). This is faster, more user friendly and works better on mobile.I'm currently working on an additional type of discovery chart, based on daily (weekly, monthly ...) show page visits (as opposed to watchlist additions and ratings). Check out the charts here: Hot | Upcoming | Trending | From My Creators | Recommended and let me know! Also, I absolutely hate how our current show lists look on mobile. Anyone with a design eye and ideas on how to massively improve that? I'll work on it anyway, but all feedback and suggestions will be highly appreciated! https://next-episode.net/news-permalink-834.html Thu, 11 Jul 2019 00:00:00 +0000
