The series is set 18 years after Jean-Luc Picard's last appearance in Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) and finds the character deeply affected by the destruction of Romulus as depicted in the film Star Trek (2009).
I enjoyed the show, all three seasons in fact. However, I'm one of the guys that think season 3 was what we all hoped from the beginning. I'm with paisley1 on the post dominion war link though. I really think that the powers that be should be writing a post DS9 (best trek by far) show as I think more fans are wanting that farrrrr more than the dismal Discovery.

what about "Enterprise" that detailed the start of it all? That is the only Trek show I really like.
WTF? You sure you didn't miss a /S? You just trolling the Picard forum?

I'd say Enterprise is the weakest of the lot. If you're not a fan of Star Trek then why bother with Picard and then go on about much you dislike it?
Enterprise was a dumpster fire! I'd rather watch Discovery, Strange New Worlds, or the Original Star Trek, but everything outside TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Lower Decks, have been so unnecessary as the popular opinion of the core audience has wanted a post Dominion war tie in storyline since the end of DS9. Perhaps the producers finally caught wind of this reality and, better late than never, decided to randomly insert the story into season 3 of Picard, which is why it feels so off to the first two seasons and yet so so good, for all the fans. lolz.

I already said that it was season 3 that went bad with Picard. Had it kept to the spirit of season 1 and 2 then fine. Well we disagree about "Enterprise" that was the best of the lot - you do not see trekkies doing enterprise do you? that must mean some thing good.

it seems that Picard DID pander to the fans rather than pursue its original title, it would have been more honest to call the show The Last Generation as in the title of the eps 10.
And see, I would've loved that from the beginning. Season 1 and 2 were a waste of time, in fact, every Star Trek show from the end of Voyager to the start of Season 3 of Picard, was a waste of time! At least they finally got it right and got Star Trek back on track, albeit, in a completely contrived  nostalgia bait approach, lolz.
*Whorf was just messing with those Borg, he wasn't even trying to kill them, he was just having a laugh in the middle of saving the Federation! The stakes couldn't be higher and here he's screwing around for $h!ts and giggles. Come on, the finale managed the perfect amount of action comedy to take the piss out of trek while pandering to their core audience, while making fun of their own pandering! It was great TV, at least for those of us who have a sense of humor.

I really enjoyed the 3rd season. It was fun to see all the oldies back together again. The first 2 seasons were a bit boring for me. I hope they do a spinoff wit Commander 7 of 9.

Star Trek obviously has a huge fan base. I really don't understand what is wrong with making a show that the fans will enjoy. Honestly, I think some people here just hate everything and then go to great lengths to explain why. If you don't like something turn it off and watch something you do like. Simple.
fans enjoying a show is not the same as pandering to them . As for suggesting that if you do not 100% approve of a show then do not watch it,is a strange viewpoint.
The show I miss is the one based on the space station"deep space 9" was it?. I am surprised that has not been brought back.
The show that fits into your category is the Mandalorian as I find it bizzare you have a show premised on you hide your face so all you really need are stunt men and voice overs.
He didn't say 100%.
And I find it strange that you seem to think that every show needs to fit your taste. So he "hides" his face in that show and you don't like it? Don't watch it! You think "pandering" is happening in this show and you don't like it? Don't watch it!
I don't watch it ( The Mandy show). it seems that Picard DID pander to the fans rather than pursue its original title, it would have been more honest to call the show The Last Generation as in the title of the eps 10.

I am the older part of 69 and watched Star Trek from the start back in the 'old days' mid 1960s.
I did enjoy this last season and look forward to possibly new adventures of 7 of Nine as the captain of USS Enterprise NCC-1701-G.
