Tales of the Walking Dead is an episodic anthology with individual episodes or arcs of episodes focused on new or existing characters, backstories or other stand-alone experiences in The Walking Dead universe.
The Groundhog's Day episode was probably my favourite thing the entire bloated wheezing franchise has ever done.

I've seen s01e01 and 02 tonight. Was a bit thrown off by what seemed like a bit "cheaper" s01 in the way the scenes were in the beginning (in Joes bunker) and thought the rest would sux, but it got better later in the ep. And I liked the "Groundhog day" e02 way more than e01.
So...I like the series so far, refreshing with a different take on things and I'm kinda looking fwd to the rest of the eps to see what they come up with.
Oh, and I (Like lighton) really, *REALLY* wants s03 of Black Summer...the first two seasons were simply amazing :D

S01E06 was a full blown horror movie. 50/50, half of episodes I liked, the other half was garbage.

Well, it does use the TWD universe - same zombies (skills etc.) and history.
And you know that just because of the title :D It could be named Funny zombie tales with no issues. Plus as far as I remember TWD focused on the whole what and how happened in total like 30 minutes, all we know it's a slow zombies, turn time a couple hours. You don't really need "a universe" for that, right?

It's actually good, straight to action without the usual hours long bs dramas. Tho I don't see what it has to do with "TWD universe" - probably did that just for marketing reasons, it's nothing like TWD, it's a zombie comedy so far.
