From what I read the pilot just wasn't as popular to justify turning it into a proper series. Or maybe they're not thinking long-term like Netflix (they're not afraid to spend a lot of money on new risky projects).

Well that sucks. I liked the pilot and was interested in seeing where they would go with it. Oh well...

Of course it can be argued about the storyline and acting but i don't remember it looking cheap especially for an Amazon produced series.

Sorry for bumping the thread, but I watched the pilot in my spare time. I thought it was bad... and not only because of what happened at the end of the episode. The rest also was mostly awful. Poorly written storyline and dialogues (does an f-word has to be in every single sentence?), characters acting dumb (hey! I don't mind that we're escaping from bad guys.. let's get back for my phone!). Plus the whole thing looked really cheap (did they hire the cheapest available extras?)... except maybe for a few short crowd scenes. I'm not going to even bother with the rest of the episodes when they're released by Amazon.

It was really great until the silly monster showed up. Monsters are not scifi. Religious stuff is not scifi either for that matter. The show is listed as drama/scifi but it is rather drama/horror. Disappointing because all the rest of it was really exciting and it really felt like you were there.
