The Ark (2023)

The Ark takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The first of these missions on a spacecraft known as Ark One encounters a catastrophic event causing massive destruction and loss of life. With more than a year left to go before reaching their target planet, a lack of life-sustaining supplies and loss of leadership, the remaining crew must become the best versions of themselves to stay on course and survive.

But strangely, I still like it - couldn't explain why though. Gonna keep watching despite all the shortcomings, really wish I knew why I like it :)

I'll still say it's the conflict resolution thing; they don't drag things out, they resolve them and move on to the next problem.

But threre's another part... they seem to be actually trying? If you watch, say, the latter seasons of The Flash, you can just tell the writers are playing a game of "how dumb can we make this and still have people watch it?". It feels deliberate. Here, the quality is very much bad, but it feels like if everyone involved could have made it better with the resources they had, they would have at the very least tried. That's worth a lot.

Same with The Outpost.

I also think, they haven't had a major plot-hole or contradiction so far, not 100% sure though.

And another thing. It feels to me like the actors and actresses worked on their acting inbetween the seasons.
I see some some real improvement there.

Finally season two. Nothing better or worse than season 1 so far.

I agree with most of what has been said here about this show:
The acting is not very good, the story is meh, science is not included & the character development goes awfully zigzag, almost like in a DC comic tv shows :)

Many things are just poorly directed:
In EP01 of season two, Eva lies unconcious in the engineering room - all around her is fire. Brice comes in to safe her. Instead of first extinguishing the fire he decides to put her in a space suit...that alone would be OK if he started with the helmet that provides oxygen...but no, he starts with the onesy? I can only imagine that it takes quite some time to put an unconcious person into a onesy...

But strangely, I still like it - couldn't explain why though. Gonna keep watching despite all the shortcomings, really wish I knew why I like it :)

Yes, same with me; it seems to be made on a very tight budget, the sets are cheap, the acting very patchy, stories vary in quality; but like you I still enjoy watching it but have no idea why I do….

I think it must be subliminal messaging :p

I wouldn't worry, I think this site should be called OppositeWorld.net sometimes. Everyone seems to:

Hate anything to do with Star Wars
Think some of the comedies I watch aren't funny
Think some totally unfunny shows are hilarious
Find the acting of some actors Grammy level when they needed a couple more lessons before they left acting school
love Foundation

And yes I know, we're all different, but if everyone agreed with me all the time the world would be a much better place. :p
