......
Showtime on Wednesday cancelled the Jeremy Irons-fronted period drama, and also scrapped plans for a two-hour wrap-up movie
......
Had the telepic been given a green light, viewers would have been treated to what Jordan calls a “totally biblical ending” featuring “the Pope dying and no one willing to hear his confession. When they finally find a confessor and the Pope starts to repent his sins, the confessor interrupts him, saying, 'I'm sorry, it's too late, you're already dead and burning in hell.'”

Not going to miss it... the show was much worse than The Tudors and I dropped it in its first season.
During E02 I just stoped and removed it from my watchlist.

I didn't really like the season two premiere, Jordan's writing feels like it's trying to be too much 'fancy' (mixed with contemporary phrases) which feels dull and unrealistic. After a year of absence it didn't really reintroduced it's characters properly and I didn't really cared about any of them.

Actually IMHO it has gained pace a little. Now I find this show rather entertaining and watchable :D

more sex and screwing around than before(1x06), but still too slow for me.
