Flesh-eating plants escape when a solar storm blinds most of the planet's population, and they're hungry for humans! Based on the book, and a remake of the previous TV series of the same name, The Day Of The Triffids is a post-apocalyptic drama that also focuses on the breakdown of society.
i liked it. but still there are points what makes me wanna read the book again, because it was better.
things i liked better in a book:
origin of triffids. (how they could not use that triffids were used also as garden plants :o )
triffids letting themselves out.
trilegged triffids(No big spectacles)(Or was it only the first mini series Triffid? :D) . https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/24/Triffidwynd.gif
but the head of triffid was still superb, just like in the mini series. only better
So mostly i liked all parts in that miniseries except not enough triffids action :P
at ending there were surrounded by triffids but there were not enough of them.
mask thing was off but i can deal with that. :P
conclusion: day of the triffids book on to my todo list.
and yes, it was short.. a lot of good stuff was out. there would have been room for a lot more triffid action.
and did i mention more triffid action?
(hammering triffid with a torch until it died was fun)
Still i know triffids are more like a minor characters, but non the less, more action would be grand)

It seemed interesting at first, but most of the character development was REALLY rushed, along with pretty much everything in the second part. They could've stretched it out into 4 eps of 60 mins each and focused more on the details, but I guess they didn't have the budget or whatnot to do that. Overall, it was an ok mini-series, but I wouldn't watch it again :)

Well i am not from Estonian, I have read the book and enjoyed the mini series :-) ... it is worth the DL.
well... lemme guess... you're from New Zealand and just living in Den Haag... Am I right? ;)
(I just thought of that since you have "kiwi" in your Nick and Sheep as your Avatar... And I know the Admin of a site who is from NZ and is constantly made fun of (in a good way) about these 2 things ;) )
So am I right? ;)

what's your hypothesis?
i had never heard of the book, or movie, btw.
it's a book about killer plants taking over the world, because most humans get blind. good read.
and i was just making a remark because only we three had talked about that..
