The F.B.I. is an action series produced by QM Productions. It was the longest running series by Quinn Martin and had FBI director J. Edgar Hoover supervise the storylines.

In its first year, the show had human moments, with Inspector Lewis Erskine losing his wife and his daughter, Barbara, being engaged to Special Agent Jim Rhodes. Barbara was gone after the first year.
