The Newbie Middle-aged Adventurer Was Trained to Death by the Strongest Part and Became Unbeatable
The fantasy story is set in a world where one should become an adventurer at as young a age as possible, as the magic that forms the basis of an adventurer's strength requires training from a young age to develop. However, protagonist Rick Gladiator's combat might rivals that of an S-rank, the highest adventurer rank, despite getting his start as an over 30-year old. Rick has actually received training from the monstrously strong members of the Orihalcon Fist, a legendary party made up of the continent's mightiest adventurers, and he continuously uses his resulting capabilities to beat elite adventurers who underestimate him.
Also known as: Shinmai Ossan Boukensha, Saikyou Party ni Shinu hodo Kitaerarete Muteki ni Naru
not much character development at the moment sadly (watchable though)
it has the classic character arc of being an unpopular guy who is very strong. apart from that, it is an alright anime!

I liked it for the first three episodes.
It's nothing new but the main character is likeable (although he is a moron, as we see way too often in this type of anime). The other characters are ok as well, again nothing new here.
The story is simple and enjoyable. You got your generic jerks, a reason to show off and an arena type of situation (I always like arenas, tournamets, etc. in animes like that).
But then we get to Episode 04....
This episode shows us the background of MC and the reason how he ended up with Orchicalum Fist...which is very disappointing.
So he desperately wants to become an adventurer and fullfill his dream of defeating a legendary monster Kaiser Alsapiet.
Then he even gets a inborne skill which is the same as the hero of his favorite book. The skill just doesn't seem to manifest.
Then we get this conversation with his friends:
Friend 1 "Then why don't you just become an adventurer until your skill manifests"
Friend 2 "There are a lot of adventurers who don't have a skill"
Friend 1 "And you can make crazy money like that"
MC "Money is not what being an adventurer is about for me"
And thats it. His friends makevery good arguments to encourage him to become an adventurer. But they mentioned money as reason, so he decides to become a receptionist instead...what the actual F is this background story???
You wanna become an adventure, you want your skill to manifest and defeat a legendary monster - but you let yourself be discouraged by a side-effect of being an adventurer, a good one at that? Just donate the money if you don't want it ffs.
There is absolutely nothing that suggests he couldn't still have become an adventurer. No tragedy happened, no failed attempt at the adventurer exam, nothing at all.
Reanette and the dragon...come on.
Of course she worked herself up to be a S-rank adventurer, the best of the best who probably has slayed countless of strong monsters but she can't face a dragon because of a childhood trauma.
So she was 8 years old, is an S-rank adventurer 9 years later but hasn't had any character development so far.
Only when she meets MC her development begins...yeah right.
I give this one one more episode to redeem itself.
