Part 9 was outstanding, 10/10 and the pure message of The Pacific. Part 10 nicely showed the whole aftermath for the three main characters (or rather an aftermath for the family of one of them). Overall it's a very good series about the human psyche during the war, a series which was partially disliked during its original airing due to overblown expectations.

Part 7 had excellent Bruce McKenna writing and Tim Van Patten directing and part 8 was actually great. I forgot how much of Iwo Jima they actually showed and everything leading to Basilone's death was done properly. Silly memory.

Can't wait for part 9, the best of the series.

Now Part 4 and 5 are a big jump in quality, mostly due to the start of Sledgehammer's storyline, which is where The Pacific really shines.

And I adore Snafu.

Somehow, the third episode wasn't as bad as I remembered.

are you hoping for the germans to win finally, or why are you watching it so many times?

Because I'm a huge fan of the series, you never seen anything more than twice? Also it gets better pr viewing - atleast to me it does :)

Also seen all the Hellraiser movies 2 times, doesn't mean Im hoping for Pinhead to enter my world :P

Yeah, I'm REALLY appreciating it more now, even though I was on the "The Pacific is good" train even back then.

That being said, I know Episode 3 will be bad. And I still can't forgive for the change of the death of Basilone. Unnecessary and inferior to what really happened to him.
