Apple TV+ has delayed the release of its upcoming politically-charged thriller The Savant. The show was created by Melissa James Gibson and is based on a 2019 story titled 'Is It Possible to Stop a Mass Shooting Before It Happens?' from Cosmopolitan. Jessica Chastain will play the lead role of Jodi Goodwin, the titular Savant.
The miniseries was initially slated for a September 26 release on Apple TV+, but it will be postponed indefinitely in the aftermath of the assassination of conservative political commentator Charlie Kirk on September 10, which has inflamed political tensions across the United States.
