for me the show tried to hard to make everything both grand and funny.
the cameos were great. but over all i think it was hours of my life wasted
but i could skip the worst parts at least.

i could only recommend it to people i know over used drugs

1x7 "Casting" - The overthinking of diversity in casting was hilarious. Probably all true.

1x8 "The Golden Globes" - Kinda sad.

1x9 "Cinema Con" - Funniest I've ever seen Bryan Cranston, also Zoe Kravitz high on mushrooms was great, & Seth not knowing the potency of the mushrooms was ironic considering his rep.

1x6 was Michael Scott awkward to the next level! Wow! Trying to convince intelligent people that his garbage films are art, while they are arguing for TV, while on a high quality AppleTV+ show that they would be arguing for, lolz! They managed to avoid the self aware fourth wall, but I was thinking about how close they were to it.

Seth says/does many stupid things, gets yelled at, and falls and hurts himself (cardboard with balloon / Table) again in this episode, so like I said before, it's a plot device that absolutely works.

Also, Josh Hutcherson's cameo was pretty funny, reminded me of those fake movies in Tropic Thunder:

1x5, The War, was fun to see such a rivalry.

The quesarito at the golf cart was epic!

Everything felt very real like it was probably based on a real problem that actually happened between two competing executives with polar opposite views on the direction of a project.

I'd like the see an episode entitled, "Development Hell" where you have many studios and production companies that have to come together to make a film but it gets bagged for years because of something petty and ridiculous.

1x1 was a great season opener, and 1x2 is called "The Oner" which is about making a single shot scene in a movie without edits (ie, Birdman), and if you hadn't noticed, the episode itself was all shot as a oner! I didn't realize this until a few minutes after the episode....lolz....and it might be the best episode of television I've seen this year.

I came directly from Adolesence, where the four episodes are shot in one (very good in ep 2 where they are at a school)

That said. This show is a no-go for me. I don't like second-hand embarrassment, and there's plenty here. I never saw Parks & Rec and The Office either, and this is not exactly like that, but it is near that style. I have too much TV to watch, so I won't miss this at all.

1x3, Ron Howard acting again was a bit ham. I noticed a repeating pattern to these episodes, you may have noticed it too:

1. Seth does something stupid/cowardly.
2. Seth gets yelled at by his employees.
3. Seth falls on a thing that gets everywhere (1x2 - Ice, 1x3 - Smarties/Pretzels, 1x6 - Table/Plates)

For that outline alone, it's worth the watch just to wait for it to happen, it's great watching Seth subject himself to bodily harm for this role, feels good watching him suffer for being an idiot.

Gordon Lightfoot "If you could read my mind" almost brought me to tears, you can't play that song at the end of an episode you bastard, he's a Canadian Icon.

Hmmm, not sure about this one. It could be one of those shows that throws tons of cameos in it and not alot else. I've watched the first couple and I like it. I'm thinking it's a show made for film students (or lovers of film) to appreciate. That's not a bad thing, but let's see where we end up.

I've tried three times to watch the first episode, but I keep losing track of the plot because I'm watching the amazing camera work and trying to figure out where they are cutting, they've done a great job and I look forward to the time I eventually watch it.

It's 2 episodes in, and it's incredibly clever, hanging a lantern on the problem of making a movie in today's economy with all the hilarious problems a studio faces.

I really appreciate what they're trying to do with this show, and love that it favours a Canadian cast...hadn't seen Sarah Polley act since John Adams.
