The Undoing

The Undoing centers on Grace Sachs, who is living the only life she ever wanted for herself. She's a successful therapist on the brink of publishing her first book, has a devoted husband and young son who attends an elite private school in New York City. Weeks before her book is published, a chasm opens in her life: a violent death, a missing husband, and, in the place of a man Grace thought she knew, only a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster, and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself.

It basically just did a 360 to get its ending, character development be damned.

Still a good show (at least till the end when it all went wrong and weirdly so).

Ah, ok... I didn't watch the show, but it always sucks if something doesn't fit to the previous character development. :)

It totally didn't, whole ending was out of the blue and very wtf!

Basically watched it because I like both of the two main actors, but I really wish the writers had worked a bit harder on character development.

The wife was a psychologist, she would have known, either that or she should quit her job.

You overestimate what the profession and those working in it are capable of:

In a sample of over 1000 randomly sampled counseling psychologists, Gilroy, Carroll, and Murra (2002) found that 62% of respondents self-identified as depressed. Of those with depressive symptoms, 42% reported experiencing some form of suicidal ideation or behavior. Finally, in a 2009 APA Colleague Assistance and Wellness Survey, it was found that 40-60% of the responding practitioners reported at least a little disruption in professional functioning due to burnout, anxiety, or depression. Eighteen percent acknowledged that they had had suicidal ideation while dealing with personal and professional stressors or challenges (American Psychological Association, 2010).

If you are depressed and maybe even somewhat suicidal, I'm sure you can be fooled.

Well okay, if she was at all functional then she would have noticed.

The show presented them as a happy couple doing happy couple things, so I don't think we need to factor in depression.

Lots of serial killers manage to hide their secret for years.

If you were at all sensitive you'd know something was weird/creepy/off with them, so I still don't buy it.

If they were that easy to detect, they'd be easier to find, surely?

From the serial killer types I've seen exposed most of them either are loners or pick controllable people to keep around.

^I suggest nobody who wants to watch this show go click on that spoiler! You will regret it, it'll completely ruin the show for you.

Yep good advice, i clicked on it earlier and not gonna watch it now.

Pity, it was a good show.

I think it started off ok, but the ending was awful.

Yeah agreed, the ending made no sense to me - no way he could've hidden that level of crazy for so long from his family and a trained psychologist wife.

^Anyone who hasn't watched this also don't click this spoiler either.
