The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window
The series is centered around Anna, a heartbroken woman, for whom every day is the same. She sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her. But when a handsome neighbor moves in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder... Or did she?
NOW: What was your reaction to reading the final moment in The Woman in the House?
I thought it was absolutely absurd and completely perfect. The great thing about this series is that it's confusing in the beginning. You should be confused, you should be uncomfortable. What am I watching? Are they being serious? Why is the dialogue so on the nose? Why is she saying she's such a great painter? I'm looking at the paintings, and they're entirely average. As the show progresses, so does the suspense, but so does the absurdity. I just thought was the icing on the cake.
I watched the whole thing in one sitting no stopping, which means I liked it, but given the comments and rotten tomatoes, you're mileage may vary.

I'm at episode 2 and its ok but not really grabbing me. I think I'll switch over to All of us are dead and maybe come back to it later.

I haven't seen the trailer or the rating but still took a jump to the deep end and watched the first ep...it was good so I'll keep on watching.
:p
just watching eps 2 and part of the story behind why she is mad ( with grief). who on earth takes a kid into a prison past all the bad guys and leaves her in aroom with a cannibal?. This cannot be real
I liked the opening bitch scene
It's a satire about murder mysteries, as in, they're making fun of how ridiculous the plot lines of murder mysteries are. It's too much of an 'inside joke' where the humor is too esoteric or only understood to people who read murder mysteries that it isn't broad enough to land for people who don't, but try to see it as a comedy. ;) The tone at the start wasn't farcical enough to come off as a comedy so I thought it was a mystery until the last 3 episodes where it went full farce, then I was laughing throughout.
White single female living alone in her house hopped up on anti-psychotics and wine, the guy continually fixing the mailbox who turns out to be a serial killer living in her attic, the guy at the lighthouse, the ex-husband who's an FBI agent who turns out to be her psychiatrist, the affair with an intruder, the cop who constantly appears out of nowhere, the daughter at the end, all very inside jokes making fun of murder mystery tropes.
In my opinion, the mystery was better than the comedy that took too long to land.

Wasn't the title a Pearl Jam song?

I marathoned it. ;)
Have you seen Shutter Island? I think she's in a psych ward, where her satirical murder mystery fantasies are mixed with past trauma, and certain characters are other psych patients, others are psychiatrists and nurses, while others are actual hallucinations. ie, she's at an art showing and banquet in her mind, but really she's just in the arts and crafts area of the psych ward, and then walking to the mess hall. That's how it landed with me at least. Disappointing that the last episode doesn't confirm anything. Still pretty funny though. Towards the end I was thinking, "Is this supposed to be a comedy?" because I wasn't laughing until the last 3 episodes. ;) So over the top! A dead giveaway is that the cuts are so hard in the edit and the lines are so hammed up, also the title is pretty funny.

Well it has 6,5 rating at imdb if that helps.
I had checked that right after watching the trailer, but the rating only could have overruled my gut decision with something like https://next-episode.net/the-mandalorian's 8.8/10. :)
Maybe only the Brits get the dirty steamy sexed up version?
