This follows Elida from child queen to orphaned outcast, as she scavenges the treacherous corners of the galaxy, always one step ahead of the Republic government out to extinguish her bloodline. When her old friend Isaac shows up claiming her mother Xevelyn is still alive, they head off with their new ally, Amae, to stage a rescue that will take her back into the perilous heart of her former kingdom and up against a deadly foe from her childhood, Commander Lazaro.
A shame, really. While it did start out rather poorly, it got much better towards the end of the season with especially some of the filler episodes being really entertaining and displaying their own kind of humor.
Given some time, this could have actually become one of the better shows of its genre. As it stands... sad to see it go.

I plan on checking this one out as well. Thanks for the share and the comparisons.

I am so glad I read this thread and I'm glad I only did it in the last week. I was looking for more entertainment and this met the criteria. I binge watched episodes 1 through 5 then two days later episode 6 aired. I really dislike waiting a whole week to watch another episode, now I have to but it's ok. There are two episodes left of this season.
I fail to see how saying that here is in any way more efficient than just acting upon it yourself.

The trailer makes it look more like Pandora* than Killjoys**, and the (poor) IMDb ratings confirm that assumption.
Well yeah, the show absolutely does look bad, both in previews and the actual show. It merely seems to aim for a Killjoys-like style in some aspects. Not saying it succeeds in that.
It really is just Pandora with even worse production but with a better story and slightly better writing in general.
I think the show deserves a better show image, no?

Elida built a life as a scavenger and outlaw, but when an old frenemy, Isaac, turns up with news about her long-lost mother, she is forced to return to her broken kingdom with Isaac and Amae in hopes of staging a rescue before a deadly childhood foe, Commander Lazaro, finds them.
Other shows this reminds me of:It seems to be aiming for a similar style, if poorly so.
The characters on this show, too, seem to kinda grow on you over time if you let them. The shows also resemble each other in apparent lack of production budget, but unfortunately it seems to have a more visible impact in a scifi than in a fantasy setting.
It seems to approach set and VFX design similarly, resulting in occasional resemblance. The overall tone might also be a similar one.
Not a lot in common here, but a number of plot elements have so far been part of both shows.
Probably the closest match. I would actually rate Pandora higher visually, but the story is much more coherent on this show and its characters are far more believable.Overall, this is far from great but still definitely entertaining. Will continue watching.
