During its Gundam Conference on March 29, Bandai Namco Group unveiled a new teaser video and visual for the original anime "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury", the first new Gundam TV anime series in seven years. They've also feature in the teaser promotional video the new mobile suit - the "Gundam Aerial" and the first "female protagonist" in the history of Gundam TV anime series.

Set in an all new Gundam timeline, the story of Iron-Blooded Orphans starts three hundred years after an event called the Calamity War between Earth and Mars. In the near future, where the Gundam franchise is at its peak and the popularity of Gunpla is soaring to new heights, a new Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online (VRMMO) Game called "Gunpla Battle Nexus Online" (GBN) is made. In Gunpla Battle Nexus Online, players can upload themselves and their Gunpla online through the virtual space and battle with players from across the world. In the game itself, the player assumes the role of a Gunpla Diver, and each year a special tournament called "Gunpla Force Battle Tournament" is held to prove who is the best Gunpla Diver. The story revolves around Riku Mikami, a 14-year old junior high school student and an admirer of famous Gunpla Diver Kyoya Kujo. He and his friends Yukio and Momoka love Gunpla and play GBN together. However, his own life changes as he meets a mysterious Gunpla Diver named Sara as strange events take place in the GBN. Now guided by his new allies, he forms their first Gunpla Diver group, embarking on epic adventures with his friends and to see who is the best fighter in the GBN world.

This time, however, more is going on than the tournament itself. Neo-Japan's Gundam Fighter Domon Kasshu is searching for his brother Kyoji, who has made off with their father's experimental Devil (In English "Dark") Gundam. In his hands, the weapon might spell destruction for humanity itself, and only he - along with some other Gundam Fighters(later known as the shuffle alliance)- can stop him.

The story is set in the near future when GunPla Battles, competitions that pit Gundam plastic models against each other, have become popular worldwide in the "Second GunPla Boom." Sei Iori, a first-year middle-school student and the only son of a model shop owner, is talented at building GunPla, but inexperienced in the GunPla Battles. He encounters a mysterious boy named Reiji, who happens to be an accomplished Gundam Fighter. Together, they strive for the GunPla Battle world championships.

U.C.0096, the Earth Federation Army Information Division feel the threat to the 'Psycho Frame' after the 'Laplace Box' incident. In order to close in on the mystery, an investigation team was dispatched to the asteroid Axis, whose plummet to Earth was prevented due to the influence of the 'Psycho Frame'. Within the members of the investigation team are Arlette Almage and Danton Hyleg, both of whom served the Principality of Zeon and Neo Zeon as an engineer and a test pilot, repectively. Upon infiltrating Axis, the investigation team is attacked by new-style Gundam at a base where no one should have been. Arlette and Danton encounter something they never would have imagined...

Three years after the end of the One Year War between the Zeon and the Federation, a group called the Delaz Fleet is formed by the survivors of the Zeon army. Under the command of former Zeon Colonel Aiguille Delaz, the fleet's goal is to rebuild Zeon. Their ace pilot Major Anavel Gato steals the Gundam GP02, a nuclear equipped model in development by the Federation. Lieutenant Kou Uraki pilots the Gundam GP01, the only one left, in an attempt to stop Gato and recover the stolen Gundam before a new war begins. "Operation Stardust," as the Delaz Fleet's operation was known, would shake the foundation of the Earth Federation and prepare the way for the to the soon-to-be-infamous "Titans."

A colonized space had finally achieved peace, until a mysterious enemy, the UE, enters the scene and attacks colonies and other targets. Our main protagonist is from a destroyed colony, safely living on another. Before fleeing and surviving the attack however, he is entrusted with a data package which contains the one hope for humans to stand up against this powerful foe, plans for a Gundam. Flit Asuno has spent most of his years on this peaceful colony studying science and realizing the plans, cultivating in the production of one. One which Flit ends up piloting himself when his new home is threatened.

It is Universal Century 0153. On the space colonies located at Side 2, the Zanscare Empire has come to power and it holds onto that power through liberal use of the guillotine. With its forces invading the Earth and its space fleets preparing to subjugate the other Sides, the Zanscare Empire has nothing to fear from the weakening Earth Federation. It is opposed only by the League Militaire, whose state of the art mobile suits and young pilots comprise the only real resistance movement. Now, thirteen-year-old Uso Evin has been dragged into the war by a battle near his home in Eastern Europe. As the Newtype pilot of the Victory Gundam, he fights not only to defeat the Zanscare Empire but also to find out what has become of his parents, who left him behind when they went into space.

When one space colony declared its independence from United Nations Earth, the devastating 7th Space War, an all-out war between Earth and space, resulted. The UNE responded to the Space Revolutionary Army with mobile suits, called Gundams. However, the SRA forces played their trump card and dropped hundreds of space colonies onto the Earth, plunging the planet into a seven-year-long nuclear winter. The UNE collapsed, but the SRA was unable to invade the Earth in the aftermath of the colony drop. Fifteen years have passed. The year is now After War 0015, and a New UNE has sprung up on Earth to restore order. In space, the colonial leaders have been rebuilding their own forces as well. By chance, fifteen-year-old Garrod Ran has discovered an old UNE mobile suit, the Gundam X, and now he uses it to help out the Vulture ship Freeden in its struggle to keep the powers that be from repeating the mistakes of the past.
