When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet's greatest threat.
I had been thinking that they can't really leave the island because then you have a global contamination threat. So I was expecting to see more buildings and labs. Without a queen they don't have a supply of eggs so the threat of an army of Xeno's isn't really there.
But reading that filming will shift from Thailand to London... Does that mean shifting to a plot where the creatures get loose in the world? Or just doing to an all sound-stage production?
Where can the plot go? The kids have taken control of an island. So? Basically the world doesn't know except for Weyland-Yutani and Prodigy. So what? WY keeps throwing inept mercenaries at the island?
Prodigy is a corp where someone will be more than happy to take over now that Kid Genius can't be reached. In real life the board of directors or whatever will just write him off.
And one of the two corporations would just nuke the island rather than loose control of those specimens or just to keep the other corp from gaining them.
But where do you think "tv show logic" will take the plot?
* It would be a contamination according to humans, they are some AGI robots with murder pets (not humans)
* It's a future where laws and boards of directors ended long ago and he can be reached
* To nuke something you actually need to deliver that nuke, who said that they can do deep space exploration missions, but they cannot do a basic air defense?

Production to start in 2026... So the show may not even air until 2027. Mate, I really hate the streaming take-over with 10 episodes and like 18-24 months between seasons. I just find it ... umm... noteworthy how Hollywood has all this tech, so much better/faster production supposedly... and yet Star Trek could produce 24 episodes a year, on time, starting every September for decades, under more privative production conditions - but now they need 2 years for every 10 episode. Its infuriating. And it doesn't speak well for all this tech and the current generation of entertainment makers. At the very least - better tech should mean higher quality at the same pace. Right?
A letter Ridley Scott wrote to the cast and crew of Alien:Earth.
"Congratulations to Noah, cast, and team on the massively successful foray into the Alien universe with Alien: Earth. When I created this world almost 50 years ago, I could never have imagined that it would continue to resonate so strongly with audiences around the world decades later. It's particularly exciting to learn that younger generations who are embracing Alien: Earth are going back to our film to see where it all began. The cinematic designs still look sharp 46 years later. Such a clever re-use of the original sets. I bloody drew them personally back in the day. The chamber of computers, Mother's womb, the corridors—it's incredible to see how Noah has embraced these trademark Alien elements while bringing something new for the fans. And as writing is the most challenging part of any production experience, it all follows from there. Noah has kept the beast alive, and dripping scare the hell out of us for some time longer. A big thank you to John Landgraf, his excellent team at FX for all their brilliant work on this new series. Scream away, no one will hear you."
And????
Ridley Scott can like this all he wants. If it fails, he had nothing to do with it. If it makes it same thing. Or maybe he loves the fact that someone else is picking up something that he is tired of re-imagining, or having to work on.
If a great director loved something you did, you would be riding a high for a month.
