Cowboy Bebop is the jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, Faye Valentine and Radical Ed: a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts as they hunt down the solar system's most dangerous criminals. They'll even save the world... for the right price.
Netflix has canceled its live-action adaptation of the Cowboy Bebop anime. The show, starring Jon Cho as Spike Spiegel, will not be renewed for a second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Though a lot of shows on Netflix are not renewed, The Hollywood Reporter alluded to the show's poor reception as the reason for its abrupt cancellation.
Reviews of Cowboy Bebop generally criticized the show's weak pacing and cheap-looking costumes and sets, while it also failed to capture the essence of what made the 1996 anime one of the best examples of the genre.

I finished ep 4 last night. Has anyone else noticed the little fun things thrown in? Like Faye's document showing she was on the NCC-1701-B? Or the menu items "Royale with Cheese" and the extinct Sea Rat?
I love that! :D
(Haven't had the time to start watching the show)

They took parts from the original and made them into new stories, which is fine, they need to try and stand out from the original. The ending was horrible though. Did not like it at all.

Watching this show felt like tripping at a SF CON where a bunch of cosplayers are putting on a performance... and I'm not saying I hate it... but there are times the trip gets a too :/

I binged the original Anime last week so that I was refreshed on it.
I've watched the first episode and it's not too bad. A lot of similarities to the original but not a complete copy.
I'll keep watching

tried to watch the first episode, was too painfull. If this was made as a serious tv show, it would be good most likely, comedys are not my cup of tea :(
