I guess there are multiple reasons: many American viewers seem to strongly dislike subtitles, the original version has to be licensed (so no bragging rights for a US production), and you can't use well-known US actors/actresses to promote something you only licensed vs. promote something that features them.

I didn't find the trailer for the new show appealing and couldn't find a trailer for the original right away.

Watched the first episode of the American version.
Not funny in the slightest, gave up half way through.
Why on earth not show the Israeli one (), it has subtitles !!
Oh Dear !!!!
I've just finished watching the original Israeli one, TOTALLY superior in every way.
If you can watch the original, with subtitles, great acting and it's a real belly laugh from start to finish.
