Based on the graphic novel The Boys, which ran from 2008 to 2012, the show is set in a world where superheroes have run amok and get involved in reckless behavior, potentially jeopardizing the safety of the world. The titular "The Boys" is a division of the CIA that watches over the superheroes to make sure they stay in line, and when necessary, kill them.
Feels a bit more serious than before which I think is a good thing towards the end.

I didn't hate it but that season finale was a bit meeh... feels like they're really dragging things out.
I can't wait for the next season of Gen V, tho!

Season 4 overall was ok, the final was amazing, at least the last 30 minutes.
Finally, Frechny + Kimiko :) been waiting for this ever since they met. I hope they get a happily ever after.
Kimiko at the end...yes, f**ing yes, perfect.
Kimiko's sidestory overall should've had a proper ending.
Frenchy turning himself in, ok until that point everything was ok. But then he just gets released (involuntarily) and the story continues....don't think the writers thought that sidestory completely through.
Connecting it to Gen V was the right decision imho and good delivery. Although I watched it I honestly can't remember how all the characters ended up...guess blondy and brother ended up on Vought's side - gotta give this one another watch before season 5.
Up until last episode Starlight had only one good moment in the entire season, when she punched the crap out of Firecracker.
She ended on a high, with freeing herself, ending the shapeshifter and with Hughie. Good ending for her.
Butcher's character development is just awesome. You rarely see a character being an a**h*** like him these days. Love what they are doing with him.
Hughie's side story with his dad...wish they hadn't done the V thing. It's basically Hughie's fault that those people in the hospital died - wasn't necessary, especially since it had apparently no repercussions whatsoever.
Could've given him a "normal" death just as well.
MM was unfortunately useless in this season...could've worked without him just as well. Should have given him a better sidestory or something.
Victoria Neumann also great character, didn't want her to die tbh...
Sage was a huge disappointment, it started of good, but then she just disappears for an entire episode, shows up at the end and, oh all good.
They should have had her explain her whole masterplan to Homelander after she told him it all worked out well....I know that's a lame trope, but it works, at least better than what we have seen here.
I don't get why Homelander doesn't just kill all the politicians and declares himself a dictator or something. Now he has another puppet he doesn't directly control himself.

Wow, what a season finale!
And make sure you watch the mid-credit scene. :)

I fast forward past any scene with just Huey and Starlight. Just worthless inconsequential scenes and dialogue between those two.

I'm watching ep 4 now and holy shit get ready for a good one.
Homelander is going ham on the scientists that experimented on him, just wow.
That scene really deserved a full episode to itself. Too much cutting to other plotlines. Needed to knuckle down and revel in the terror of the scientists inevitable demise....

Whoaaah... Butcher realizing at the end that he's seeing several people that aren't there was great... Fight Club vibes!
I'd say more "A Beautiful Mind".
Definate vibes of both but Fight Cub came first though.
Been a bit hit and miss this series but i Loved this latest ep - and remember kids if you see something say something :p.
Ultra Violence and puppets gotta love it :).

Even more serious!
Can't wait - 1 month to go !
Also, seeing Marie and Jordan from Gen V in the trailer makes me think it's true that Season 2 will also be the final Season for that show.
