Does he directly work for Trowbridge? - If he did and he was working with Kate on that Northsea stuff...couldn't Trowbridge put 2 and 2 together? - he can't be that dumb... - that whole Cal character was just a plot device and didn't make any sense otherwise.
Worst of all it made Kate basically just play Telephone between all the other characters. Her own charater-development was soley based on the men around her in this season...
Cant disagree with any of your takes. While I am hoping for something refreshingly new for S4, I am not optimistic about it.

Just giving it the trailer to win you over doesn't always work though - the cast sometimes needs to really get into it. I've watched shows where the trailer was a bit disappointing, but by 1x3 they won me over. :)

Just finished S2 and enjoyed it some good writing in places with some funny moments. It was good to see Allison Janney back in a political drama she certainly made her presence felt in the final episode. Hopefully there will be a S3.
