Based on the video-game "The Last Of Us", the show follows hardened survivor Joel and Ellie, a young and capable girl, on their journey through a radically transformed world.
Set twenty years after an infectious pandemic caused by a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus ravaged humankind, these two people, who were brought together by chance, must make life-altering decisions in order to survive.
The Last of Us explores themes of survival, loyalty, love and redemption in an emotionally charged expedition across the post-epidemic United States.

The Last Of Us Co-Creator Confirms Season 3 Will Focus On Abby
This can be a good thing (with Kaitlyn Denver taking the lead).

The Season 2 final was "ok".
I am having a "Squid Game Season 2" déjà-vu, meaning this clearly feels like half a season to me - and I don't just mean the amount of episodes we got but the story itself.
I get what they are trying to do, but if we have to wait half a year or even more (more likely) to learn about the other side of the story this is gonna be a hard pill to swallow...
But I gotta be honest, those few scenes from Abby looked a lot more interesting than anything else in the last episode of Season 2.
This episode in particular felt like they don't take the story serious enough.
Jesse and Ellie strolling around the city in the wide open was bad enough bad but when Tommy and Jesse just suddenly showed up at the aquarium this felt just stupid. And then they get back to Dina without any issues?
I mean after Ellie left the hospital at least someone would have reported what happened, right? - Shouldn't they be on the lookout for them?
Speaking of lookout, remember the first scene of Seattle, where we saw a guy with binoculars keeping watch - if that actually was the case, there is no way they wouldn't have been spotted at some point.

That is what I have been saying all along. When seasons are this short, filler episodes suck.
Yes! The season finale (aka "The Stupidity of Ellie") was also kinda lame... :(

Yeah... 2x6 was the weakest episode for me.

Episode 6 would've made a great Episode 3, but as 2x6 it felt completely out of place. Especially since we have only one Episode left in the Season.
Other than that, the first half of the episode was probably what many people were waiting for (including me). The second half was, in a specific way, completely unnecessary.
Seriously, was it necessary to make Joel look homophobic when he caught Ellie with the other girl?
The broken promise also felt unnecessary, I think in a situation like that you would be able to tell when he is beyond the point of saving.
And then the waterworks at the end...why did they have to do Joel like that...they should've shown him resolut in his decision, he even said he would do it all over again - why not show that...

2x5. Wow... Is this perfection? Loved how the episode unfolded, and the set design alone - DAMN!
Not quite imho, but still a great episode :)
I didn't like that they somehow felt like they needed to wait for Ellie to shine until the end. Up until they split up she was rather useless. I wanted to see her go wild in that warehouse, but she went down far too quickly. In short, the balance between her and Dina could've been better.

Yes, I also enjoyed 2x4!
Love how much you thought about an alternative season 2 approach. :)

From what I read so far online, this is basically confirmed with Season 3 already being titled "Abby's Story" https://screenrant.com/the-last-of-us-season-3-creator-abby-story-tease/
