Four celebrity artists each form teams of singers that they coach and mentor throughout the competition. Individuals are eliminated until each celebrity only has one team member left who competes in the finals to be named "The Voice of America" in a live finale.

yep only thing i like about american idol is the nasty simon cowel and the auditions. But great music talent has not much to do with the show but with the people who were casted. Only time when i watched the whole season of american idol was when Adam Lambert was in it. That guy had really musical talent, he performed the songs in his own version and even rivaled the originals with that.
For an entertaining casting show the british show x-factor stands out, let's see how the american version will turn out.

Damn right, reality shows aren't for me either. If I want reality, I take a look outside. It's funny, it's inspiring. But also horrible and miserable. I don't need a million dollar show to understand just how beautiful and horrible man is.

Oh and Orlando.. Just ignore the yapping and the crying and the "I've-had-a-hard-life-so-I-deserve-to-win-this-competition" sympathy speeches, and just listen to the music.. Great talent+great music=great entertainment. :D
