Episode reruns of this show on cable here in Japan are a total lottery season-wise but for me the over-arching arc narrative of this show is; so good and so bad. I just can't stop watching it even though I think the old man (RIP) might have been the only actual human being involved with the whole chunder-brained sham. His fat son, the main dude, the Homer lookalike, is just a sad know-it-all tightwad moneybags. Yeah, you're the expert on everything buddy, of course it never dawned on you that your customer might know a tiny bit of the backstory of the shit theyre bringing in to try and flog to you, but no, we have to get your (obviously pre-researched) haughty little vignette on each piece.
But even he's Liberace-on-stilts compared to his own son, the colossal spoiled fat boy, who seems to have some sort of crippling inferiority complex he sheens a thin smarmy veneer over. The personality of an ant who spends his days trying to pull off his own wings even though he hasn't even got any fucken wings because he's just an ant.
Chumlee, obviously scripted clown relief. He's probably a fucken genius. They're all millionaires from this shit. Haggling over $5 for some tossers toy goddamn car. Yeah, reality tv. I tune in every week.
