Edward Adler, a 12-year-old boy, survives a devastating commercial plane crash that kills every other passenger on the flight, including his family. As Edward and a diverse ensemble of others affected by the tragedy try to make sense of life after the crash, unexpected friendships, romances and communities are formed. The 10-episode drama series is based on the 2020 novel by Ann Napolitano.

The story describes the 8-day clash between Arthur McCoy, an incorruptible sheriff with a troubled past, and Red Bill, an infamous, solitary bounty hunter known for decapitating his victims and stuffing their heads into a dirty black bag, because, as he puts it, 'Heads weigh less than bodies.'

The show stars Aidan Quinn as the Reverend Daniel Webster, an Episcopalian priest who can see and talk to Jesus Christ.

The decades-old, risk-taking soap centers around Erica Kane and her long line of husbands.
